| Volunteer OpportunitiesBecause so much of what we do is about relationships and people giving to people to make a difference in our Catholic community, volunteers are an integral partner in the workings of the Catholic Community Foundation. Volunteer opportunities include the Foundation Board, Regina Alumni Advisory Councils, and Run for the Schools. Foundation BoardThe Catholic Community Foundation fifteen member board is made up of dedicated professionals whose primary responsibilities are to establish, uphold and promote the mission of the organization; set policy; hire, supervise and evaluate the executive director; and to ensure effective fiscal management as good stewards of our donor gifts. Board members serve three-year terms, with the opportunity to renew for one additional term. Sub-Committees of the Foundation Board To better serve the Foundation’s mission, the CCF board responsibilities are further broken down into committee structure. Volunteers outside of the Board membership with the interest and desire to serve on one of the subcommittees are encouraged to contact the Foundation’s executive director. Development Committee Members assist the Foundation’s executive director with various aspects of the Annual Appeal (phase & comprehensive goals, timeline, leadership chairs) and planned and deferred giving (education, recognition, development of relationships and programs). Public Relations Committee This committee is comprised of volunteers with a marketing, communications, and/or PR background who are devoted to helping the Foundation ensure the development of marketing and public relations efforts that include written and visual communication pieces. The group is particularly committed to promoting the Foundation’s mission, the message of how donor gifts can and do make a difference and recognition of those who generously share their treasure to make a Regina Catholic education possible. Stewardship Committee This committee dedicates itself to ensuring the Foundation is a good steward of the gifts entrusted to it by its donors. Included in this responsibility is accountability that Foundation gifts are used for the intent of the respective donor’s wishes and that gifts are accurately recorded and swiftly acknowledged. The Stewardship Committee oversees the process for selection of the Foundation’s endowed named scholarship recipients and the Regina Distinguished Alumni award winners. This committee also plans recognition events for giving society members (Living the Promise & Cornerstone Club) Regina Alumni Advisory CouncilsNewly created in 2006 to encourage and solicit the input of Regina graduates, council members assist the Foundation’s executive director with these topics:
Regina Alumni Flag BearersA new tradition began at Regina graduation ceremonies in 2004 that allows alumni to pass the torch and tradition on to the newest grads. Each graduating class since 1959 has a representative to carry their flag/banner to usher the soon-to-be graduates to their seats just prior to graduation ceremonies. It is a great “Hats Off to Thee” message and a salute to the heritage of a Regina Catholic education. The few, the proud, the Regals… We are looking for a few good alumni to be alumni flag bearers during graduation ceremonies May 27, 2007. If you would like to volunteer to carry a flag for your class on graduation day 2007 (Sunday, May 27), please contact April Rouner at (319)354-5866 or ccf@mchsi.com or register now. Run For The SchoolsEach October, the Iowa City Road Race organization, hosts a walk/run to benefit the Iowa City and Regina School District Foundations. Pre-race and race day volunteers are needed to help with stuffing and distribution of race materials, man water stations, registration tables, etc. Please contact the Catholic Community Foundation office (354-5866 or ccf@mchsi.com) if you would like more information on volunteer opportunities or would like to submit your name for any of the volunteer opportunities listed.
